You're not the only one. There are sure to be other AMDites imagining things as well.

Charles - <I think this news item has huge significance to the AMD thread. Just wanted to see if anyone else sees that or if I am the only guy imagining things. >

I see something....in reference to a real wild a** speculative rumor that I came across a while back. If the rumor were fact, it would not be optimum for a certain company's forward looking activities in the high end.

That's all I'm going to say, because I have not had confirmation of the initial rumor.

How's that for imagining things Charles?

<<While Microsoft Corp. is committing to support existing NT-on-Alpha customers, the Redmond software giant isn't going to support new NT development on any architecture other than Intel, starting in September. >

Does anyone see anything here?

The quote does not sound good for Merced. However, it's hard to tell from the article, unless you know something.

It may have POTENTIAL significance to AMD - POTENTIAL.

But read the article - current efforts at Microsoft are to support INTEL ARCHITECTURE Servers & Workstations.

Intel.

Not AMD.

Of course, you can hope and pray all you want.
