I respectfully disagree with you in the sense that my operating assumption is/was that perpetrators of killings do need justification for their acts - justification in their own minds at least.

Again, I respectfully disagree. It seems to me that all that is required are levels of sensory input sufficient to justify - in the perpetrator's own mind - the need for killing.

But if what you are saying is true, that no justification at all is required for acts of terror or killing to take place, then where does the motivation come from? Surely there's more going on in Kosovo than mere random acts of unjustified violence. Right?
