Tom, do you mean x86? I have installed redhat on a 400mhz p2 with 128 mb ram and scsi harddrive, and find the gui painfully slow.

Red herring. While it certainly is possible to install Linux on a 386 system it isn't feasible. I have Red Hat 6.0 running on a 486-75 with 24 meg of RAM and it is just barely usable in command line mode. Anyone who claims otherwise is blowing smoke.
