Bill,

I'm having a bad day because A@P got suspended so just for fun I thought I would share my thoughts as to why CPU is a crappy investment. Turnabouts fair play eh BW?

Ever shop there?

They suck. They are too expensive and the zit popping teenager trying to sell me a video card couldn't find his a$$ with both hands.
If you want to see your PC stuff Fry's is about as good--all the demo equipment in either place is broken. At least at Fry's they have what I want.

The internet business model of buying computer equipment works! The ratings system sites like killerapp and discount mail order is going to make CPU's overhead too high to bare in what will soon be a commodity market. My last box I ordered all the parts and snapped it together in 3 hours... less the Floppy drive that CPU wanted 50 bucks for, which I got at Fry's for 20(but had the damn pin connector bracket put on bass akwards)---->another reason for buying mail order. Not to mention sales tax.

Oh yeah, and to tell you the truth if I really need something for my PC right away and cheap....Staples has a remarkable supply of demo stuff that actually works.

Now put that in your hat and smoke it ;-)

V

Wexler says sayonara.

I've been following the Anthony@pacific debacle (I am a member of his site) and have decided that I will stop posting on SI (I am also not posting on Yahoo or any other public message board). Anthony had nothing to do with this and I didn't discuss this with anyone. I just felt that recent events and the increasing aggressiveness of touts and stock crooks and the censorious policies of SI has made this a not-very-fun place to be. I need to take a long break from battling scam-stock nutbars anyway. Maybe I'll come back some day. Maybe not.

So long to all my SI pals - it's been a hoot. For those of you on the A@P site...see you there.
