John re: In addition to what Rudedog said, IBM enterprise servers (old term - mainframe) can actually be UPGRADED remotely. When the customer is ready for a more powerful model, the hardware is ALREADY there, the magic is done via a microcode load... I believe that IBM charges heavily for their remote service. Dell is offering the service as part of warranty. This to me is the difficulty for the business model that relies on service for revenue and earnings growth. It may also be the reason Dell has not entered into a service arrangement with IBM in trade for becoming IBM's box supplier that many were excited about. Cheers Mike
