<<, in today's India, that is Bhaarat, unless you agree with the right-wing nutcases, you are not a patriot! You will be dubbed as a Communist and a CIA agent in the same breath.>>

May be you are over reacting to something non-event. When I was growing-up, Congress MPs always criticized the tiny minority of opposition members for selling out to the 'foreign hand' (i.e. the CIA et.al.) for every criticism expressed on their policy. The Congress chumchagiri press reiterated the same.

In today's US - Clinton administration dubs Republicans as anti-american for disagreeing with his policies. The left-wing press which brown-noses the pervert Clinton (just because he is pro-choice?) keeps the same attack stance on the republicans. Never mind even if Slick raped a woman 20 years back, they want to know if Bush did coacane at that time.

See - 15,000 mile apart the political motives are just that - political motives. If you can't dicipher their motives, tough luck in life.

PS: (FYI - I hate Clinton and the hypocricy of today's democrats, not the democratic party. I hate some right wing extremist views - not the republican party.)
