Does this question, "Could you please give me some examples of attacks by these fringe groups?" ask for outright insurection or planned acts?

The Freeman in Montana(?) used various money schemes to bilk people out of money for their self-righteous cause. The incident ended peacefully if I remember correctly.

Then there was a group in the southwest (Arizona?) that was infiltrated and busted. It was said they were planning some sort of action against a government target. They had plans and all kinds of stuff, enough to convince whatever agency busted them to take it seriously.

The militia mantra always seems to say, "When the government takes the guns away, who will there be to protect us if they impose their will on the people." I can buy that arguement. However, it scares me to think that we have collective groups that are always training for what if's, who may become impatient that they're not seeing action, so therefore make something happen totally outside the purpose for which they formed in the first place.

Having said all of the above, I think the Waco incident was a travesty and a tell-tale sign as to what our government is willing to do to its own citizenry. The government was WRONG, period.

<< My first question is, "how is using psychological warfare against a madman honorably trying to resecue the children?" They blared music at the compound for weeks, at a decibel equal to an airplane taking off. >>

This unfortunate tactic was only used near the end of the of the "seige". But, there is a huge jump between a possibly stupid decision to blare "Lawrence Welk" at Koresh's murderous extremists, and a decision from the Federal government to murder everyone in full view of many different news organizations, and the world.

<< What I do believe is that Reno, in her first Nazi tactic, really dropped the ball. >>

How were Reno's tactics comparable to the Nazi's inhumane actions? Are you familiar with what the Nazis did to millions of innocent civilians and to captured American soldiers during WW II?

<< You allow outside contact, and encourage negotiation, and eventually they will calm down. >>

Why don't you apply to the FBI or the ATF for a job in upper management? You would be able to solve every hostage situation without bloodshed! It's a damn shame that you weren't there during the Manson killings, or at Jonestown. You could have saved many lives. And, imagine what you could have prevented in Nazi Germany during the Holocaust. I did not realize that extremists or cold blooded killers would calm down and give up through a friendly little chat!

OTOH, FBI negotiations were done for many weeks. It was only after it was felt that the children's lives were in danger at the hands of Koresh that the ATF and FBI attacked the complex. The federal government was correct about the threat to the children. Shortly after, the murdering cultists burned their kids to death.

<< Could you please give me some examples of attacks by these fringe groups? >>

Many of these organizations finance their planned attacks by illegal activities. The first one that pops up is The Order, who committed several murders and robbed several banks before they were captured.

Do you really feel that these fringe groups, who stockpile weapons of war and preach hatred and violence are safe? Do you think that they are only interested in selling girl scout cookies?
