How about an athlon overclocked to 1050 Mhz.

Tom has released his how to overclock the athlon guide. According to him, if you have the guts you can get an athlon to 750 reliably without any additional cooling. This ought to raise even the most skeptical gamer's attention. Also suggests the 700 is ready the moment it is needed.

Re: 250*5500*.65*52=46.475M units from FAB30

Good point, I'd be delighted to see 45 million 40 million transisitor K8s out of FAB30 in 2001!

Kal Kan - Re: " K8 or a stopgap K7 with 1024KB L2 would probably have around 40M transistors and a die size close to 100mm2 with 0.13Cu, 7 metal interconnect."

I believe these 40 Million Transistor K8's are running through Dresden right now - with excellent yields.
