I have no sympathy for the Branch Davidians. They were a dangerous cult that destroyed the lives of its members. Sometimes the notion of individual liberty and a "free for all" goes too far. I think the the protection of the interests of the whole, even at the occasional expense of individual rights, makes sense. I feel sorry for the much maligned ATF and FBI employees that lost their lives in this operation. As per the cult, I'm glad that none of my loved ones were carried into its web. The insurrectionists were destroyed, as they should have been. No apologies. No regrets. In today's America, many citizens are so obsessed with their rights, that they forget their responsibilities. We pay a higher price for our products, because of obscenely high jury awards and criminals walk, because no one is responsible for anything. In the case of the Davidians, the finger is pointed at the government. I believe that ultimately, the Davidians are responsible for their own deaths.
