john....re: "world first"

you're the type who probably believes companies like ibm and hwp have contributed greatly to technology. (vbg)

so when is ibm's 100th anniversary? some lead, some follow, both have purpose in life as long as successful, but not even "mikey" could follow without a path blazed before him...if he could that would make him a leader....maybe he could follow himself...had a beagle who did that with his tail....

thanks as always your rational real world input.... ed a.

John, re:
I get the distinct impression on this thread that anything Dell adds to it's product line is always a 'world first' (even if it has been around for years) <gggg>....

Take a look at Bruce Brown's post where he talks about Dell in serving businesses, finds businesses prefer less innovative products. John, you seem to be able to add to the thread but I find your condescension to be somewhat rude. Novice investors like myself, come for help and support. I have generally found that knowledgeable people are also respectful even to those that are just "cheating" off the smart ones.
Cheers
Mike

John -
Actually, the ability to pick just the right feature set and announce a product which creates the perception of "ground breaking new" when in fact it is a clean fast follower product is one of DELL's great strengths, and customer perception in the markets they serve drives sales.

We may sigh and shake our heads but at the end of the day its the bottom line that counts, and the boys from Austin can spin gold out of straw.
