Mike -
You are of course correct - and as I pointed out in another post, DELL's offerings are innovative, well thought out, and their execution is excellent. Everyone, DELL included, sells enhancements to the basic warranty. In many areas DELL has a stronger base warranty but in other areas they are at parity or even slightly behind. This is an area where vendors tinker with the offering and cost much as car dealers do.

DELL is either first or tied for first in almost every category of service customer satisfaction, so they have more room to play than the other guys, and it is a clear competitive advantage. My point in these posts is simply that this is just more business as usual DELL refinement of their business and improvement of their offerings, not an earth-shaking change.
