Religion and conservatism as they relate to schools are two different things in my mind.

The only issue I have with conservatism and education is that they spend too much on jails and none on schools. I believe they should drastically up the $$ for schools, double teachers salaries, build new bldgs for a change and put them in the inner city... its an investment imo which right now is not being made.

Creationism in schools is just looney, very fringe. Whose version of creationism do they plan to promote anyway? Do they plan to present Jesus as a Jew? Again I suppose the Hindis, Buddhists, etc. will be excluded? What about the Koran? You know, if Delay could ever get himself out of Midland Texas he might realize that diversity is upon us.

Religious private institutions after all have the luxury of one denomination. Public schools can't do that, they have to serve everybody.
