Looks like this is becoming a regular "war" for Gretchen... anyone care to cross-examine her facts/logic here, on this one?

< Several veteran Wall Street traders said that one sign of illegal shorting occurs when the daily trading volume in a stock far exceeds the number of shares available to the public, known as the float >

Seems if day traders were trading the heck out of a stock and with double counting on NASDAQ that it would be certainly possible for the shares traded to exceed float. Or am I wrong?

You guys all realize who this "performance artist" is don't you ?

These fears are confirmed by the experience of John Skiersch, 33, a
performance artist in Chicago who lost more than $200,000 day trading
stocks in 1997 and 1998

i mean, didn't gretch use fane lozeman for a "source" in another story.

ok ok its just a theory <gggg>

I wish one of you guys would call into cnbc when they have a stock picker on, and dodge your way through the screener, then when you get on the air, ask the mutual fund guy or whoever. " i want to short something! What is a good short? what do you recommend I short? I don't mean the long and the short . I mean I want to short. Short SHORT !!!!

lol

it would be funny to listen to ted david or whoever stammer their way out of that. Unfortunately I wouldn't catch it, because I almost never watch that crap anyway.

What I like about Gretch, is she is constantly trying to pick on the little guy. That's the best. I mean Jeezus H. Christmas, why isn't she reporting on the fact that half of the ipo's coming out are total freaking frauds ?? They need shorting for chrissakes !

Gretch is no dumb dumb, I am sure her editor is just thrilled to bits with her sensational pieces.

Anyway, her articles are irrelevant and deep down inside, I think she knows it.

<
>

In my style of trading I mostly short stocks so I found the article most interesting.
