If you look at the Post article
washingtonpost.com

They quote him as saying "inexplicable" in par 1.

However, in the text seen in
Message 11089844

the word inexplicable is absent. Which I guess goes back to your statement of ...inexplicable.

On the other hand, in either case of the Post article or the text...what's new? The Fed is going to watch the markets. How many here are surprised at that? At least the way I have read the article and text, Greenspan has said that there has been both growth and volatility....ok ...who disagrees with that...he's talked about the distortion of accounting options...we've talked about that here...In terms of the market and how the Fed is affected. What is implied to me [lonely soul that I am] is that the Fed will attempt to take action that does not add to the volatility of the markets.
