BTW there was an interesting piece on the McNeil news hour yesterday on this topic with regards to McCain and where he actually stands. Apparently the republican fieldworkers that get a lot of votes are strongly pro-life... the grassroots stuff. But the money, the more highly educated, and elites are pro-choice and becoming more and more strongly so (probably based on the influence of people like Quayle - jmo). So, republican candidates face this quandry. I liked McCain a little better after listening to this piece, since I reject Quayle and what he stands for.
