> Silver production is falling though

I don't have 1998 numbers, but silver production made a very good rise during the 1990s. Starting at 13,063mt in 1990, it moved to 14,900 by 1995, and hit a record of 16,400 in 1997. There were 30%+ rises in production from Mexico, Peru, and the United States.

The largest silver mine in the world, Cannington, with over 700 million ounces of reserves, will be producing soon.
