All;

Canon introduces new digital megapixel camera PowerShot S10 and megapixel dyesub printer CD300.

powershot.com

Both products use CF type 1 & 2 (IBM microdrive mentioned). Prints can be made by selecting in camera and inserting CF to printer. USB compatibility while eliminating use for USB Imagemate; will make the product easier for folks to link camera to computer (USB compatible of course). So much for Sony's low resolution 3-1/2 inch floppy setup.

Perhaps I have misread the press releases on the "new" memory format, but give a design form such as this, why would any camera maker switch away from CF?

I believe I saw that info on the QUALCOMM thread, perhaps a couple of months ago, but I don't recall exactly when. The main point was that these small devices to be used for accessing the Internet would contain flash memories, and I believe the comments mentioned the PDQ, a QUALCOMM phone that is combined with a 3COM Palm Pilot, as well as some of the Palm Pilots and competing devices using Windows CE. Most of the devices using Windows CE contain a small amount of flash memory, some of which is provided by SNDK.
