Many of these freedoms that the hard right demands were protected by Warren Court search and seizure and first amendment decisions, and have been eroded by the highly conservative Rehnquist court, who strengthened the powers of law enforcement agencies. Because of the hard right's assault on the Warren Court protections, those protections were gone when Clinton came into office. Perhaps the hard right should listen to the hardcore liberals once in a while.
