First you complain that I'm accusing the gov't rather than individuals, then you complain that I'm impugning individuals. You can't have it both ways.

"Why not focus on a hero cop who is shot by a rapist and say "look how brave and good these men are," rather than on one who does something wrong so that it can be said "look how evil the government is." The logic is escaping me."

You're combining too many elements here. You ask why I don't focus on the heroic cop as an example of the good they can do, instead of focusing on a bad one as an example of what the power-mongers want. But I'm not speaking of cops (or federal agents or what-have-you) at all, with the exception of Lon Horiuchi, who is a murderer. My entire point is the evil of the gov't and the methods and people they use to achieve their evil ends.

Sure, there are many fine law-enforcement officials, but they aren't pertinent to the issue at hand. They will be lined up and shot just like the rest of us, if and when...
