Mark, thanks for the tip on the excellent report from Prudential. Printed and read (IE 4.01). Very bullish on our favorite stock, a much needed shot in the arm.

What do you think of Alan G. apparently resenting the masses profiting from this bull market. Over ten years into the uptrend and millions of people have found that they can greatly enhance their savings by investing it in the markets, instead of putting their money into a 2% passbook savings account. As a result, "people aren't saving any more," at least in the traditional sense. They are investing in the markets, profiting, and are spending their profits in ways that Alan G. does not approve (new homes, cars, travel etc.) and the economy is booming.

A major problem with his disapproval is that those same people resorted to putting their money into stocks, bonds and mutual funds to fund their retirements because Social Security is such a poor alternative, and Alan G's disapproval could have a very negative effect on those plans.

Regards,

Jim

Thanks Mark for your thoughtful response. With much less experience than you and many others on this thread, I honestly just need the reassurance that I am doing the right thing by holding firm. I have been buying on the dips and have averaged down nicely. I know I have to do what is best for me, but it certainly helps to have your words of wisdom to lean on.
