Yes, and I speculated here a few days ago that APLX would crash, but instead it has soared. Go figure. I think there's some speculation that if Star Division was a good takeover candidate, APLX might be as well.

The nice thing about it is that a few weeks ago one could buy a significant fraction of the company (in the sense that one could write down one's ownership percentage without too many leading zeroes) for very little money (and I did, although in retrospect I should have bought much more!).

Some of these small-caps have been good to me. A few weeks ago I tripled my money in RICK (could have quintupled it, but held on too long). Again I should have done it with a bigger position, but I'm pretty risk averse (believe it or not).

But APLX still has a long way to go to reach the performance of SUNW.

Edit: BTW, has anybody noticed that Yahoo!'s quote server seems to have died? It seems to be showing some very stale quotes. I don't know what they run it on. I don't think it's a Sun -- Netcraft identifies it as a FreeBSD site.

JMHO.
