NT taking out Cabletron makes no sense at all - too much overlap with Bay Products.

Another subject -

Lucent has customer relationship management (CRM) software to integrate into its call centers. To my knowledge, Nortel
does not have such a product. Look for them to develop such a package to compliment their acquisition of Periphonics.

Hello Bron-y-aur, not sure. NT was reselling CS gear before the BAY acquisition and BAY was reselling Yugi gear before it was acquired by CS. Are they still in collaborations? CS does have a few pieces of valuable assets, like Spectrum, but not any leapfrogging stuff. So, my conclusion is that I cannot see NT, or anyone, for that matter, would want to pay a huge takeover premium.

just my 2c

best, Bosco
