Mike - Dycom would seem to be a good indicator for the rest of the communications equipment sector. When they are doing well, the sector should be doing well.

If I didn't hear it wrong, DY stated that they have a $1 billion back order. To put this in perspective this is a $400 million (annual sales) company. So it's significant.

Also of significance, they have equally divided their business roughly 50-50 between cableco and telco upgrade business.

Again, I not only look at companies like DY for investment purposes, but to get an indication of cableco and telco spending plans primarily in the Last Mile. It sure is looking strong as I listen to the brain/brawn CCs.
