Cool it Guys! I hate to see hostility and acrimony contaminate this thread, as happened a year ago when the stock tanked to $6.00. Investing is a high pressure, highly emotional experience, since there there is a lot at stake for many of us. This thread sets a high standard when it discloses important information and reasoned opinions. That standard drops, in my opinion, when some of us get involved in trying to divine the short term moves in the stock and relatively unimportant daily trading activity. That probably takes place because we run out of things to say in between the really important news events that place less freqently. I don't think we should confuse enthusiasm with hype, and I think this thread is relatively hype-free. We must recognize too that there are questions all of us would like answered, like what were the terms of the Intuit settlement? But there are some answers that are not in the public domain, and we must be willing to make investment decisions without all the information we would like to have. If there are some that wish to cut and run, there is no guilt in that. A number of major institutional investors have shown their lack of staying power in Checkfree. Because of the price volatility in the stock, some of us have found it profitable to maintain trading positions in Checkfree, as well as long term holdings. I do that at times myself. Another one of the things that separates this thread from all others, is the comaraderie that has been built up over the years, and in some cases the friendships. I think all of us share a common interest, so let's not let out noses get out of joint by some vitriolic remark and start a fight by responding in kind. Let's post on this thread with dignity and respect for the next person, recognizing that sometimes we don't always realize how we are coming across to others. If you have a bone to pick, call it to the person's attention privately where he doesn't feel the need to make a public response in defense of himself. At the meeting Pete Kight pointed out there was a lot of confusion in the industry and that it would probably take at least six months before it all got sorted out. Therein lies the risk and the opportunity. Take your pick! I would like to think that name calling has no place here!
