Ram,
I certainly hope that the Barron's author was off target when he guessed that the EPS spinoff could happen in the 1st qtr of 2000. Lev didn't give us any real clues about his estimated timeframe, but his introductory comments on the cc included the following: "......we remain confident that we'll be successful in achieving some purchase orders in the relatively near future. Some of the limiting factors in our.......our.......receiving purchase orders also is that some of our......one of our..... major partners is in the process of being acquired, and that has some of their customers in turn waiting for the situation to become more certain, at which time we think we can have some fairly rapid progress."

As I said, no real clues as to what "relatively near future" means. I do believe that some major OEM's are lined up to do business with Valence through EPS though, so the quicker that situation is resolved, the better for us.

On the other hand, Lev did say they would act as a second source to Hanil's customers until Hanil gets up to speed, so initial sales could indeed get started in that arena. We've heard rumors about Samsung, of course, and Lev said an asian customer ( but not Samsung) was in the Beta test phase.

One possible indicator was his answer to a question about whether one could expect to see products with Valence batteries on the market by thanksgiving or christmas, and he said "it's certainly possible we could be shipping products before thanksgiving and christmas......"
- but again not a really definitive statement. Just have to wait and see.
