this may be a trivial question to anyone with better understanding than myself, but when the Fed raises interest rates, causing stocks to gyrate wildly, making it attractive to people to buy bonds and the likes, aren't they (the Feds) in essence collecting money from you and me... is that correct, and do they need to collect money from the street or is that just a byproduct...?

TIA

best regards
amein
