OT ... "liberal" media ...
1-Even if it is true that the media are predominantly liberal, that is irrelevant to the issue of poor reporting on economics and markets. You will find bad reporting in conservative as well as liberal media.
2-It is not "provable" that the media are predominantly liberal except to measure by one's own biases, which, in your case I would gather are conservative. The media is largely middle of the road mush, eager to reflect the values of the communities they serve, reluctant to offend readers and viewers with tough, hard-edged reporting and, above all, profit driven.

**OT**I think reporters simply try to get their stories published and newspapers simply try to get their papers sold. Fear and terror sells. It just doesn't reflect reality very well. I quit watching television news a long time ago. It's the same thing with money matters.
