It is perfectly legal for military personnel to cross train with ATF and FBI- there were 3 delta force people there and they were observers. I think the operation was handled badly- but I can understand why they wanted to make the arrest at the compound- so they could make a search incident to an arrest. Had they arrested Koresh in town at the store- they probably figured evidence would be destroyed at the compound. As for all the conspiracy stuff- the government acted stupidly, but there was no conspiracy (imo). I don't know what you do with cultists who are kinda nuts and have lots of weapons. I really don't know. And the fact that THEY set fires and killed there own folks kinda lessens my sympathy for them.
