Scott,
the dispenser of pearls has been missing in action for quite some time.

Congrats on the contest Scooter, i am going to catch you<G>

i guess my comments about taking it pmail, was based on the idea that it would take quite a few messages back and forth to lay out some of the specifics on a system, but hey, i'm open to discuss most anything

including them thare Packers

regards
peter

Exit and entry strategies are some of the key elements of trading.

I discussed these with Tom about a year ago on this thread and he heartily encouraged it.

He was particularly adamant about the need for backtesting.

Scott

you mentioned earlier today that the .25 portion of the system (above/below high/low) is too tight. I would like to get some ideas on what sort of stop range would work for the sp large. I have been live trading the minis using another system which is designed to ride trends so the stop there was much easier to set... i.e. break of 20 ma on a 15 min chart, indicators reversing, etc. I was willing to give up some points to stay with the trend as long as possible.

The goal of the new system is to minimize draw down in choppy markets. Today was day one, in fact, it just dawned on me today to get busy on a choppy market system. Goal is to catch max # of trends but the way GZ is going it appears the positional trading is the way to go ;0)
