AIC and CAX to (re)merge: biz.yahoo.com

Oh, well...another "strategic" merger without a premium -
about as much fun as having sex without kissing.

bob,
I love GLB and is one of my 5 largest positions, including the preferreds. They sold off their hotels 2 years ago, before the sector got hit, and I like the buyback strategy when prices are so low. This should expand FFO by an additional 3-6% if they can buy back enough shares under 17.

zebraspot,
AIC already owned 27% of CAX and they have shared employees and CAX was recently buying shares of AIC and they announced a likely merger, so it makes since that they are merging without a premium.

Incredible turnaround for the $RMS during the last 4 hours of trading. There was also a large gap at the close. Tomorrow should show whether this is the start of a bounce, or just End Of Month window dressing. Many, Many REITs closed with buys of 10,000 shares or more blocks. I hope this is the start of something good.
