Tom, Thanks for your post and great to hear from you! I'm trying as best I can to analyze the long term worth of this stock (which, in my mind, is substantial). However, my own contributions are minor compared to those of people like Herschel Rubin and now yourself. So keep on posting! The mistake I made today was in keeping isld.com running in the background on my computer, so I could watch the Island ECN (what irony) book on NITE. It was frustrating watching the damn stock get pushed down below 33, only to fight back again and again, only to get pushed below that threshhold time after time. I know, long term, this could easily be a 100 stock, but sometimes I can't shake my short term mentality (worse yet, I read the YHOO thread which is ultra-short term in prospect). In a perfect world, I would put the stock away, forget about any research, and just come back and see what had happened a year or two from now. That said, it actually is fun to research this company. Mostly because Pasternak is such a sharp dude and has such a great eye for growth prospects. For example, it is difficult not to get excited about the prospects for ISE (options), yet until the market sees the numbers, nothing may happen (share appreciation-wise). Likewise, the potential benefits of the MER deal are very significant, what with MER-Online (which I'm using now), MER-international, MER-options and what-have-you. Heck, MER has, what, some $1.3 trillion under management? (I'm guessing at that number, but I think it is in the ball park). The analysts were excited about this deal, as was the Street (for a day). The excitement will return. Anway, all I can do for the time being is to accumulate stock. Do you realize that, at the current growth rate, NITE would have a book value of something equal to its current share price in about 6 to 7 years? (Okay thread, tear that statement apart, it is just a guess!) That is nuts! Anyway, welcome! Gary Korn
