ANd at skating rinks you wore little skirts and if you were really cool and owned your own skates, you had yarn pompoms on them.

I'm still drawing a blank on the skate key, probably because
skating was such a terror-filled experience.

I'm a good swimmer and could dunk a basketball in high school,
but I could never stay up on water skis or roller skates.
Coordination is selective, I guess.
