700mhz Coppermine PentiumIII by end of October'99

according to a quote from Intel
in today's New York Times.

BTW, the 22" Apple TFT is $4,000 not $3K.
$3K only buys you 18" TFT units. Apples
22"TFT is going to compete with the 24"
Monitors you can get now for under $2K.
You can already get 40"TFT's from
NEC for the price of a new car!

I just got back from Seybold and had a chance to see those LCD's from Apple. They really did pretty good. They have adopted the high tech clear / metallic plastic look and design of the new G3's and the recently announced new G4's. The images looked dang nice, but the price point is ridiculous. The industry is moving that way, and some day we'll probably all be using them. Apple had a HUGE presence at Seybold. Bigger than I have ever seen, mostly oriented around the new G4's and the new LCD. They were also displaying their new iBook laptop.
All in all some nice looking hardware, only problem is it has the wrong OS. Now if they can make them so they will run NT...... :-)
