What does anyone think of SEI at this price? They missed the earnings estimate and have gotten killed. With energy prices heading up, they should be able to recover next year. Do you long-time energy investors think enough of the company to think they would be a good investment for Boom 2000?

Just a thought, and I don't know whether this has affected natural gas usage, but this August was the coolest here that I can remember. I'm not sure I ran my air-conditioning more than one day last month.

Since I don't really keep track of weather in other cities, I don't know if this was typical.

K.L. with a new handle; am i right?

I wonder what Doug has to say about this apparent NG glut. From where i sit (which is now back in the land of Thai smiles) there is a short and a long term bullish view on NG.Short termers are playing hot and heavy on low levels of exploration coupling with a shift in recent weather patterns. The very hot summer has been one boon and a cold winter would complete the short term picture. Add an intense hurricane season and the short term view deserves heavy leverage.

Long term, one just cannot deny that NG is becoming the preferred energy source muy muy rapidamente. I'm playing both angles and am given to wonder whether the Southern Co. spokesfolk was doing his jawboning for rather self-interested reasons. Climbing the wall of worry...

Southern Co. was the same outfit that bankrolled EGAS for appalachian exploration. The news release is a little bland with too few details, but EGAS is claiming some success in their drilling program...

At the same time the company says they are full and the gas market has ready supply they are bankrolling some aggressive drilling. IMO that goes some distance towards qualifying the statements of the Southern Co. spokesperson.
