I think you are essentially correct. But I got the impression that the introduction of the various Thin Phone models was perceived as Qualcomm's first big chance to make some serious profits from handset sales.

Now, the accelerating erosion of average selling price (ASP) has sort of ruined this portion of the stock valuation euphoria.
