Jerome,

RE:It has been mentioned on this thread by others that there could be a shortage of CYMI's product due to increased demand. I believe that the recent run up in price is due to this perception. For some reason the perception of shortage, real or imagined will drive the price of a stock or commodity, to new highs, irrespective of the actual situation.

Because everyone is so dead positive about this stock as a can't miss proposition, that alone is cause for concern. After all those that follow the herd are likely to get trampled by it.

There is not a shortage of Cymer's product. There was a mention in a ML report that Taiwanese DRAM manufacturers were having difficulty acquiring high-end DUV scanners, but this is a different thing. Though it does bode well for the future. Also, Cymer's product is not a commodity - not even close.

Everyone is "dead positive" that we are in a semiconductor upturn. I think Cymer is fairly valued for this point of the upturn. I'm perplexed why you are so mad about the current valuation. You are giving the impression that it is some type of injustice for the stock to be trading in the mid-30s. If you have a good argument for Cymer being grossly overvalued, I would certainly like to hear it.
