" If you have a good argument for Cymer being grossly
overvalued, I would certainly like to hear it. "

Firts of all I feel that CYMI is fairly priced at today's price. I don't see much upside unless earnings improve dramatically.

At current prices CYMI offers more risk than reward. (for the next couple on months)

Once CYMI reports two or three consecutive quarters where they beat estimates, then its off to the races.

For the next month or so if CYMI drops to the 30 or 31 range I'll be buying calls for Nov. of Dec. If CYMI rises to the 36 to 38 range I'll be writing covered calls for Sept and Oct.

Options expire OCT. 15th and CYMI reports on the 27th. So as far as call writing is concerned there are two expiration dates to consider.

The semi cycle is in the early stages of recovery and has a long way to go. In the meanwhile some profits can be realized with options.

I'm not mad about current valuation, but concerned that profits could evaporate on little or no news. (KLIC for example)

I feel that we can predict the growth rate or CYMI and others in this group if world events stayed constant. But they never do. Further devaluations in S.E. Asia would do this group no good.

These are all value judgements, and every poster has to make his or her own.
