I do wonder if the patent problem will hamper earnings?
Message 11139022

Can Lam buy the small company Tegal or is it private?
Do they have a good claim?
It will be interesting to follow.

regards

Taiwan's Chi Mei to Start Second TFT-LCD Production Plant in 2001
September 3, 1999 (TOKYO) -- Taiwan's Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp. disclosed its plan for production of thin-film transistor liquid-crystal display panels.

The company plans to start the operation of its first plant (FAB1) for producing TFT-LCD panels at the end of 1999. Then the company is to begin the construction of its second plant (FAB2), aiming to start operation in 2001, according to Jeff Hsu, the company's vice president.

He made the announcement at the Japan-Taiwan LCD Industry Producers/Sellers Cooperation Meeting held in Tokyo on Aug. 30.

As for the measurements of the mother glass, those of its fourth generation (G4) will be adopted, he said. The company plans to produce 30,000 sheets per month. Also, he said that it will start construction of its third, fourth and fifth fabs in 2003, 2005 and 2007, respectively.

Land of Capital Gains Rates!

Jeepers! Sept 2 marked the anniversary of my purchase of shares at $11.75 and in two days we will hit 1 year for my $10.125 purchased shares. Truely amazing as we hit $64 a share today!

I still like the company and its prospects for the long term...but do I take a few profits???? What a decision! I wonder if Bagley sold any of those shares he purchases in the mid $20's well over a year ago? Anyone know if he has done any selling?

Thanks to all on this board for sharing everything. Lets hope we continue to rock!
