Re: "Why don't you sell AMD puts for one or two months out? The premium is always higher - the further out you go - although you take on more "potential risk" that way."

I'm struggling with this very question. The problem is I don't want to cross over an earnings report such as Q3 because AMD has a nasty habit of posting financial disasters each and every quarter. I'll sell more puts as soon as AMD does it's usual quarterly pre-announcement of another disaster, and all the AMD faithful will be shocked!. That way it's factored into the price. The AMDolts don't seem to be able to remember for longer than a couple of minutes and they're back to expectations of a wild takeoff any minute! Thank God for their undying optimism. It's making me a nice chunk of money.

On a separate note, I'm very concerned about the general market levels and fear that a bear market is looming. A receding tide sinks all ships and it will certainly take AMD along with it so I don't want to be more than a month out.

I write puts on AMD, INTC, RMBS, ORCL, UTEK and others.
