Elmer - Re: " The problem is I don't want to cross over an earnings report such as Q3 because AMD has a nasty habit of posting financial disasters each and every quarter"

If you have any AMD shares that have been "PUT" to you, you can use this to your advantage by SELLING COVERED CALLs on your shares.

Or, if you don't own any shares, sell UNCOVERED CALLS at a strike price of around 22 1/2 to $27 1/2 - but be prepared for a possible (but highly UNLIKELY) POSITIVE surprise.

Re: "I'm very concerned about the general market levels and fear that a bear market is looming"

I can see a big sell off - and a minor panic - but the economy is doing great, everything but houses and stocks are getting cheaper - so I don't see any bear market of any significant duration.

Some people just can't stand prosperity !
