Teflon,

Regarding AOL, the only "proprietary" aspects that they can lay claim to up to now imo, has been "content" and perhaps the new Instant Message service. I'm not an AOL user myself, but I do use the IM thru Netscape, it's a free service so I don't see how it really adds anything to AOL's growth, unless they get a large base of users hooked on it like me, then start charging for it, kind of like SI <g>

RE: AOL and EOU. Please note that at the 30th anniversary fo the internet, the founders stated that in the near future internet will become 'transparent' just like electricity. That would take away the advantage of AOL's EOU.
