The nonsense is to imagine that ETrade was ever the proper venue for persons interested in 1/16. This is a good game to play, but only if you have a hard-wired Level II set and have a good feel for how MMs operate. It is totally absurd that there is continued sniping about ETrade's inability to serve the real day-traders when this was never what they were about. The whiny folk should pack their bags and go elsewhere. Fido

FROM AN ETRADE CUSTOMER (me).. please read.. take heart Mogul... at least somebody is happy.. well I'm a customer of Etrade.. and until this last 2 months haven't been a happy one... not a terribly upset one.. but leaning towards the negative side.. I've become much more active trading since april of this year and now have over 2,500 trades.. most of which again are just in the last 5 months... let's see that's what $50,000 in commissions I've paid.. or more.. for 2 years I've been upset with etrade because of 1) poor customer service 2) long hold times 3) same rates for everyone regardless of # of trades 4) slow confirmations on orders 5) system seems to go down once a week... or more 6) no real time account positions/balances.. i never knew how much cash I had to buy... and i hated orders getting rejected because I was $10 too short anyway, i sent out an email to several companies looking to see who I would leave etrade for.. and I got some interesting offers.. turns out I'm still with etrade.. here why 1) platinum power etrade customers are now offered their own private line to a broker and customer service.. wait time is now less than 1minute.. usually just seconds. Customer service and brokers are NOW available 24hours a day .. 7 days week.. 365 days a year.. i just called and asked them and they confirmed.. they are even open labor day 2)again my private line answers this problem 3) the new commission schedule allows me to feel valued .. if I do 30trades in a day and some guy does 30trades in a year why shouldnt I get a discount? well, now I am.. up half price $9.95 after i do 75trades in a quarter.. did 24trades in the last 2 days.. I'm almost there.. 4)timeliness of orders seems a little better... confirmations are still slow.. sometimes taking 2 to 3 hours to get confirmation.. only to find out i bought something I thought was cancelled and vice versa.. that has cost me.. but I'm hoping they fix this soon 5)System is not going down as much.. was down today.. but with the speedy phone line i can easily get a broker to help me.. though i still prefer the web... so this still needs some work 6)real time account positions are now available so i know exactly how much cash i have and dont have to worry about placing orders and getting rejected because I didn't have enough cash.. 7) I also LOVE the free level 2.. can't live without that. there are other things they have too.. but this is what i wanted to comment on... I dont own this stock.. i probably should... anyway, from a customer who was ready to walk out the door and take my $50,000 year or more in commissions with me.. thanks Etrade. I'm yours til you give me a reason to leave and so don't! I hope they can continue to invest in their systems to make them efficient and timely and I'm looking forward to the after hours trading coming this month too. take care jim (Voluntary Disclosure: Position- No Position)
