CB -- I'll try to be brief. Starting from the bottom and working my way up. I think you've been a bit hard, a bit wrong and a bit unfair (the last having nothing to do with gender). Frankly, I am beyond making peace feelers and expressing understanding or respect for your point of view when none is reciprocated. Re. civilized discussions you quote me quite correctly. And then you "report," as justification for wanting me to vamoose, that I said "truly civilized discussions among just men or just women are the exception." SAY WHAT???? My point, which I am astounded if you missed, was that most single sex conversations are civilized. I must disagree a bit with my namesake about male bantering -- an insulting greeting between old friends may be normal, but, in a more general sense, carrying on with crude insults is likely to get you shunned or worse. Next, I did not say there was plenty of male bashing on feelies. I said there was plenty of evidence of of the male sex being trashed and stereotyped. There is a big diff. CB. I would expect an attorney to be able to understand that there can be "plenty of evidence" for a single offense. I suspect (no, I didn't go back and count) you can find numerous uses of terms like "macho" used in negative context in quite sincere and heartfelt expression here. I see little use of comparably prejudicial terms such as "bitchy" or "PMS." I did not say only one woman on feelies has an interest in men who are not 100% cuddly. I said I had only noted one. An absolutely accurate representation. There are no grounds for argument. I certainly do not KNOW what women on feelies prefer in men. I feel like I could make a decent guess in some cases, though. Actually, it might be great fun some night if we all alternated contributions to feelies with our spouse/lover/whatever. Think of the possibilities! Maybe we can even have a reenactment of the foot rubbing or calf licking or whatever it was. Bring the sprouts, too. No fair calling Jerry Springer -- it was my idea! I admit that I did like E's early stance on the last/first humans. Is that a crime. It certainly seemed more sane than your outburst about killing.....killing the man.....killing yourself.....aborting the child.....killing the baby. That was friggin' scary. E was, of course, entitled to change her mind. But don't try to tell me that you and other women didn't directly attempt to persuade her, both on the thread and in private communication. That, of course, is also your right. But why the charade the women don't want and seek to achieve a united front on what I call women's issues. E, again, strayed pretty darn close to the edge of the flock in speaking up for NEO on aspects of the breast feeding discussion. I don't think you were pleased. Just my opinion. By the way, E, I'm not trying to involve you in any argument. You will remember me praising you for the ".....baby first, man second," comment. I don't agree with every position you take, but, I admire your respect for fact in an argument. I hope we are still on good terms. Re. the possibility of getting hammered by stepping outside PC lines of interest ON ISSUES OF INTEREST TO WOMEN. I stand by the statement. I've certainly been getting hammered by you for the past 24 hours, COBALT BLUE! Your lack of appreciation re. my assertion about PC is regrettable. I did not intend to offend or antagonize you. We have a difference of opinion, OK? I would rather be on friendly terms with you than not -- but, it is not my role or duty to make you happy. YOU STRONGLY IMPLY THAT I CALLED WOMEN STUPID. PUT UP OR SHUT UP, PLEASE! I think my assertion that there is a womens' line of thinking on feelies is rather self evident. The breast feeding discussion would be one example. The last/first couple another. Hey, I didn't say it was a BAD thing. I just said I thought it was a thing. Re. the 11 women and the "wannabes." Some men prefer the company of women to men -- it's not a put-down, it's not an accusation, it's a fact. They're often interesting and very likable folks. Not all men on this thread fit the description. I'm not going to make a list for risk of offending someone left off, but certainly, IMO, Steven and Neo would be on any list. Finally, I don't think I said all the women "wannabes" were men. ****** Unless I find some outrageous untruth about me as I scroll forward, this discussion is over for me.
