Just returned from my weekly Saturday session with my shrink, the major-league malapropist and Suzy's cousin the redoubtable Doc Kronkite. Say boychick, what happened to that syncopation deal you mentioned with your column?" You mean syndication doc" I said wearily. "Exactly, syncopation" he replied. "I don't wanna talk about it doc, it's in negotiation. My agent's handling it." "So who's your agent?" he asked. "Maury-the-Goniff" I said. "You went by Maury-the-Goniff?" he said giving me the Look. "You should go by me for syncopation" he continued. "So who do you represent?" I asked. "Sorry, can't tell you. Confidentularity." "That's confidentiality" I snapped. "Exactly" he said, "confidentularity. There's a whole canyon of ethnics we doctors have to follow you know. My lips are peeled." "That's sealed doc" I growled. "Exactly. Now what can I do for you. "No doc, it's the market, it's driving me meshuggeh. Thursday the Dow is down 200 points after a report came out that productivity gains slowed sharply during the second-quarter. So I look at my charts and short some AMAT and AMZN. Then Friday before the bell the employment report comes out saying that only 124,000 new jobs were added when the estimates were calling for 240,000 jobs. I get stopped out of my AMZN and AMAT on the opening for a loss." "Mmmmm" he said. "You got a problem. See my girl on the way out, make ten more appointments, I can revolve your problem."
