David, it should be noted that the Reuters story late today was not a press release from CheckFree.

"By Gilles Castonguay

NEW YORK, Sept 3 (Reuters) - "

is how the article started. A couple paragraphs further, it quoted Kight "in an interview on Thursday".

There was nothing new in there that I saw, except the wording about "in the next few months", regarding Yahoo rollout, and also the number of billers signed up by Yahoo: supposedly 25. Notice that the Yahoo spokeswoman declined to comment further. I speculate that its because Yahoo doesn't want to spoil any PR plans that the 25 billers may have, or the planning of the rollout. A biller who is one of the 25 may not want to have its phones beseiged with questions that they either can't precisely answer right now, and/or don't have people standing by ready with the answers.

If prior experience is any indication, the billers will probably want to notify their customers of the Yahoo option with a special insert into their monthly bill.

>>>Do I sense a bit of sarcasm in that remark?

Yes and No.

>>>or do you agree with me that the powers that be at CKFR simply do not know how to release news for the betterment of shareholders?<<<

I am coming to the conclusion that it has nothing to do with the powers within CheckFree. IMHO, if CheckFree was teamed with a Microsoft or CitiGroup, they would automatically garner the attention they deserve. The fact that they are on their own means their respect in the media will come after they gain some name recognition -- one of the reasons I am so excited about the Guaranteed by CheckFree branding.

Sam (IMHO)
