Bernie,

GALT isn't one that I listed as straight up and it never will be.

My purchases of GALT looked like I was AIMing it Starting back when it was fairly valued and adding to the position as long as it was cheap".

300 5/18/98 24.79
400 6/5/98 15.78
500 8/10/98 10.40
700 10/16/98 8.27
500 2/4/99 21.15
500 2/12/99 18.65
-----------------------
Average cost = $15.40

The difference between me and AIM on this one is that I refused to sell shares acquired cheaply until it becomes overvalued.

Dave

Bernie,

Has someone been slipping lighter fluid in your coffee lately?

We are 98% in agreement on the types of stocks AIM can be used on and the circumstances as to it's application, but you seem to keep pointing out the 2% where we differ. I find that unproductive.

My only point in "straight up" stocks is that unless you violate the central premise of AIM and use Vealies, you will end up with inferior results in a small but finite number of cases. For my part I concentrate on those small number of cases because when they pay off, they pay off big time.

In any case, you can certainly AIM just about anything that doesn't go out of business and those stocks I have highlighted here have great potential for returns no matter what methodology you choose to apply.
