re: The CDMA WEB SURFING PHONES will access the web starting at $9.99 a month on top of the regular monthly voice fees ----

and

WIRELESS KNOWLEDGE WILL PIERCE THE HOLY GRAIL OF THE UNIVERSAL DATA CENTRIC NETWORK solidifying the QUALCOMM/MICROSOFT >>

I have one worry. While the handsets are great, they are merle a means to access information, at some point it will be game of me too as in the PC industry. I feel at this time QCOM is polluted by MSFT by trying to put out a product that they want to be all to end all. Wireless Knowledge should first get a product out the door, small in scope, so they have their name out there, then add the all the whiz bang stuff later. Before you know it AOL, YHOO, ATHM and all the others will have wireless Internet offering, and Wireless Knowledge will be spinning it's wheels in the Lab still. QCOM can not afford to act like MSFT, they do not have a lock, as MSFT does with windows.

>> The case of SPRINT PCS the all CDMA Digital Network. Sprint PCS with there all CDMA digital network will put a BIG squeeze on the other national carriers at THE END OF SEPTEMBER when they roll out there CDMA Digital Wireless INTERNET

Thanks for sharing your vision of Q, GQ. I was as breathless reading and agreeing with it as you apparently were while writing it.

I picked up my QCP-1960 ThinPhone on Thursday, the first day Sprint made them available in n. California. After playing with it for 2 days, I have the following impressions:

* The sleek design and color selections make it an eye catcher; co-workers want to know where I got it.
* Signal strength is far superior to the QCP-2700 (2 bars at home versus 0).
* Address book is much easier to program and access.
* It appears to be set up with a mini-browser. I've got my credit card in hand as soon as Sprint enables web access!
* With a special cable and software, it will function as a wireless modem for my laptop.

This is an explosive offering. The best part is the built in advantage Q has, since Nokia/Motorola/etc. have to pay royalty fees on cdma and higher prices for the asic. Competitors margins will shrink, Q's won't, and Q's ipr stream will blossom!

If Q releases any positive info to the analysts on 9/15 <why else would they have the meeting>, the stock should fill back to the 200 range. But the big jump will be in October will be based on their earnings report, which will belie the rumors of shrinking margin. With an ipr stream growing by leaps and bounds, how could their overall margins possibly decrease?

Imo, the analysts, who are servants of the big houses, are just setting up buying opportunities for their masters. Those of us with a strong grip on our holdings will continue to prosper!

GO*QCOM,

Perhaps you could SHOUT a bit less.

<< AT&T and others will soon be forced to purchase there own CDMA Armatarium >>

Horse Puckey!

Check out what the UWCC is doing.

AT&T contract with Lucent involves implementation of EDGE (skipping GPRS).

Are Bell South & SBC involved? One might guess so.

AT&T will reconsider and deploy CDMA.

Right! (wrong).

Is there a Paradigm Shift?

Implications? SEVERE!
