Jim Willie: The more I read of your TA readings, the more I am beginning to believe that TA in your hands at least is useful as a string to the investment bow.

Doubt I could ever learn anywhere near enough to watch and interpret on my own, but am learning something new from you (I think :-).

Appreciate your willingness to share your views.

Will watch late Sept and early Oct with special interest - thanks to you.

Don't plan to try to time but even for a long term holder, some explanation of the when and why is very useful.

Jim Willie: Since all I follow closely and think I may understand are fundamentals, here is a bit of that to go with the TA view.

The ramp up in Japan is key IMO. Let's all remember that Japan is a special case since CDMA is not competing with GSM there. There ain't no GSM there. Only old stuff. So the big guy NTT (DoCoMo) has to decide about how to compete. It is in a position a little like AT&T in the US. It's primary technology in use (analog and PDS (?)) is withering on the vine despite attempts at fertilization. Meanwhile it has active strong competition from two companies who have joined forces to roll out CDMA - and most importantly - CDMA with data too.
Bingo. On top of that, those two companies are considering a merger. What does NTT do - wait for WCDMA which is vaporware?

Suggest we watch with interest. And follow the CDG announcements.

On timing based on fundamentals, I expect an excelllent Sept quarter but a blowout Dec quarter.

How the price will reflect that, I haven't a clue for this calendar year.

But by Feb 2000, like wow !

PS Mexico, Brazil, Australia, and G* will be adding fuel too for the Dec quarter blowout.

PPS That is my fearless (chuckle) timing prediction based on fundamentals.
