Pete Seeger, late 50s or early 60s, referring to the springing up of post- War Levittowns and their imitators: "and they're all made out of ticky- tacky, and they all look just the same" (the houses)...Considering that for many people it was their first opportunity to escape from tenements, it was a remarkably snobbish song....
