QuiteWon,

If you go the FVC web site I think you'll get your answer. SVC's are not where this company is focused - they are a video company (interactive and streaming) and integrated access. It is true that in a connection oriented net SVC's would be required for streaming video but I don't think SVC's apply to connectionless IP nets. Furthermore FVC was established in 1993 and one year after that Cisco purchased StrataCom who was already hard at work on SVC's for their ATM switches. It could be that CSCO sought help from FVC on the old Lightstream products but if I recall the LS1010 already had SVC's by the time StrataCom was purchased....although I could very well be wrong.

What is the real issue? Are you trying to determine if this fellow on the Yahoo thread is credible? One thing that is interesting and may be significant is that CSCO does not show up as a "partner" of FVC whereas LU, ASND, and NT do. Maybe one or all of these companies did business with FVC??? Could the poster on Yahoo be confused?

Good luck on your search for the truth.. because we all know.
